Forbidden
by Alfredo Cuervo Barrero
What is truly important?
Seeking the answer within me,
and I find it so hard to find.
Misconceptions invade my mind,
used to mask what you do not understand,
stunned in a world of illusions,
where vanity, fear, wealth,
violence, hatred, indifference,
adored become heroes.
I wonder how you can be happy,
how among so many lies you live,
is everyone who has to answer,
but for me, here, now and forever.
Mourn prohibited without learning,
wake up one day not knowing what to do,
to be afraid of my memories,
only ever feel.
It is forbidden not to smile at problems,
not fight for what I want,
give it all to be afraid,
not to realize my dreams.
Is forbidden not to show my love,
do you pay my doubts and my bad mood,
invent things that never happened,
remember only when I have not.
It is forbidden to leave my friends,
do not try to understand what we live,
call them only when they need it,
not to see that we are also different.
It is forbidden not be me before people,
pretending to people I do not care,
funny just me that I remember,
forget all the people who love me.
It is forbidden not to do things for myself,
not believing in my God and make my destiny,
be afraid of life and their punishments,
not live each day as if it were a ghost.
Missing you is prohibited without cheer,
forget the moments that made me love you,
all because our paths stopped hugging,
forget our past and our present pay.
It is forbidden not to try to understand people
think their lives are worth more than mine,
not knowing that each one has his way and that,
thinking that their world ends missing.
It is forbidden not create my story,
stop to thank my family for my life,
not having a time for people who need me,
do not understand that what gives life also takes away.

I Am Not Yours
by Sara Teasdale
I am not yours, not lost in you,
Not lost, although I long to be
Lost as a candle lit at noon,
Lost as a snowflake in the sea.
You love me, and I find you still
A spirit beautiful and bright,
Yet I am I, who long to be
Lost as a light is lost in light.
Oh plunge me deep in love—put out
My senses, leave me deaf and blind,
Swept by the tempest of your love,
A taper in a rushing wind.

Love's Secret
by William Blake
Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind doth move
Silently, invisibly.
I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart,
Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears.
Ah! she did depart!
Soon after she was gone from me,
A traveler came by,
Silently, invisibly:
He took her with a sigh.
