Things That My Heart Rejoice...
Oh I long for things that my heart rejoice,
the sound of a baby's laughter,
the loving look from the man I love,
the softness of a kitten's fur,
a flower in bloom under the springtime sun,
the soft lazy day of summer next to a lake,
the silence that surrounds me at that moment,
but one thing that makes me happy is the closeness
of a friend someone to share your heart's desires
with and who completely understand you without questions.

Standing Tall
Made from hay and tattered old clothes,
you stand watch over the crops,
your head always down and eyes always hollow,
you are the protector of the fields for miles around,
alone you stand with not a friend,
your enemies sometimes perch on your arms,
only to craw throughout your days,
so the rains come and the birds fly away,
alone you are again, until your body become thin,
your clothes become rags then you are replaced and tossed away.

The Lily
In the early morning rays,
lily lifts her head to feel the sun on her face,
such beautiful petals from this flower,
as they open she stretches toward the sun,
to feel the soft breeze of the wind,
in hopes by afternoon,
there will be a cool rain shower to refresh her beauty.
By mid evening, she knows she has lasted
another day of her short lived life,
only to fall back to sleep with the kiss of the moon.

The Sight Above Me
At night, i lay in the warm grass and
look up to the sky in wonder,
such a beautiful sight above me
in a blank of black with tiny
shining diamonds that glisten,
those tiny lights that look so near
are millions of miles away and
hold the wonders of other worlds among them.
Within each world is a chance of a life,
a life to grow and breathe,
to look up into their night sky
and wonder as we do.
And each night, those lights move so
slowly from one place to another,
and with each movement,
the seasons change, and
our wonder and amazement
grows more and more.
For one moment, it seems endless
and as our life ends a new light appears
to carry on to the next generation.

Once and Always Will Be
To stand among the trees so tall,
with a breeze against my face,
and to touch the flowers as they
grow wild in the darken forest,
the heat of the lazy of summer
is almost over and soon
the leaves start to turn
the most beautiful color
and the days will remain warm
and the evenings become cold
only to return the following summer
as they were once and always will be

Only In A Dream
to taste the dark liquid;
to drink from the fountain of life,
you give yourself to me fully...
for once I am done;
you will no longer exist
... but only in a dream.

A Million Stars
As I sit on the Moon and look down toward Earth,
I think of my years on that planet
among millions of stars
and think of its wonders,
the beauty of a forest,
the foliage tent that covers
the animals below in the heat of the day,
the waterfalls in their splendor,
as the sun rays glisten off and
share the wonder of its beauty,
the farmlands, with their crops full
and ready for harvest
and the mountains in their majestic glory,
their chilled tops and rocky base...
but one thing I remember was the love
that I shared with the people who I called family and friends...

Tattered
Bound and tattered,
you came from the forest,
to tell our story,
to share our words,
to entertain us,
we flow from day to day
on a thin sheet,
where black scratches
against the white..
